The August Book Round Up

The Girl with Seven Names by Hyeosneseo Lee

AMAZING! CRAZY!

This book is about Hyeosneseo Lee’s life from living in North Korea her whole childhood to finding herself a defector at the age of eighteen, and that is about half the story. We all know that the Kim regime is evil, but this book puts a personal story on top of that. Can not stress this enough: CHECK THIS BOOK OUT!

My Rating: Must Read

Born A Crime by Trevor Noah

Funny, gripping, eye opening account of Trevor’s life South Africa during and after Apartheid. I felt like a learned a lot and that I walked a little in his shoes. Great perspective and great story.

My Rating: Highly Recommend

Thomas Jefferson: The Art of Power by Jon Meacham

A great biography, beautifully told but might be slightly too brief, like this review. See what I did there.

My Rating: Recommend
